Sliplining
This procedure uses traditional pipe lining technologies. During installation smaller liners are installed in the pipeline to be rehabilitated. This can be carried out by continuous or short pipes or the connection of different liners. The annulus between the liner and the old pipe have to be grouted. These technologies also provide a structural reinforcement which means that the liners installed this way will function as fully structural systems.
Polymer concrete
Polymer concrete elements used for the rehabilitation of gravity sewers are made of a base material of specially high resistance. This base material consists of calciferous sand containing assorted silicate with resin matrix bonding. These components are mixed at a certain temperature and are congealed in casting moulds by continuous shaking. The final product is non thermoplastic and can only be formed mechanically.
Polymer concrete elements have special material characteristics:
- high rigidity (e.g.: elasticity modulus 20.000 N/mm2)
- high chemical resistance (pH from 1 to14)
- high abrasion resistance (equal to that of granite)
- complicated geometric shapes can be formed
- long lifetime

PE pipe
A smaller diameter PE pipe is pulled into the gravity or pressure pipe to be rehabilitated. This pipe will function as a fully structural pipe. The joints and the bends of the pipe to be rehabilitated has to be excavated. The annulus due to diameter differences has to be grouted always.

GRP pipe
The liner to be installed during the procedure is a composite made of glass reinforced PE resin. The liner is introduced through a manhole. Liners are produced in circular, egg-shape and other standard profile shapes. The annulus between the statically sized liner and the old pipe always has to be grouted. It is important to cover the inner surface of the GRP pipe with a coating depending on the transported medium. This is necessary to prevent the dissolution of the PE resin.
